The meaning behind Valentine’s day gift

When it is February, we know the day of romance we call Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Every year on February 14th, people exchange gifts, cards, candy or flowers with their special “valentine.” It is a special day for those who are in love to express their love and feelings to their significant ones through valentine gifts. Card is a way of convey your message and care and roses symbolize love and passion where teddy bears resemble warm hugs. Even the numbers of roses carried different of meanings. Random individuals are interviewed about their selection of Valentine’s Day gift and the meaning underneath.







Cecilia Lim Ying Wei, 24 years old been five and half year together with his boyfriend and she decided to gift him a watch because he collects watches. Besides, it is to remind him not to late during date too.


Madeline Toh, 25, together with her boyfriend seven years long gifts Royce chocolate every year as she said chocolate are valuable, divine and delicate.




Ng wen yin, 22 years old prepared her valentine gift by filling up a new diary book with their photos to recall every single moment that they spent together.


Because it is now winter in Fayette, United States, a transferred student, Yoon Yeap, Low, 20, bought a pair of winter gloves for this coming Valentine’s Day for his loves one to protect her freezing hand.



Britney Lee, 23, customized a pen with her boyfriend name engraved on its cap because she thinks pen is practical and useful for his work.

Chai Zhee Hawn, 26, he spent a lot of effort to learn his girlfriend’s favorite dishes as they are planning to have a homemade buffet dinner on Valentine’s Day. They could enjoy closed space celebration at the same time to avoid crowded expensive restaurant.

Joey Lau, 23, booked a bouquet of roses which synonymous with passion and romance for his girlfriend for Valentine’s Day.

Chai Ciu Luo, 22, who is married, thinks the best valentine gift for her husband was their new born son.

A few ‘Single’ individuals who prepared Valentine’s Day gifts for their crush and dedicated ones were interviewed in this survey too.


Chang Siu Zhen, 30, he handcrafted artificial flowers for his love as he thought the meaning of self-made items is far beyond from ready made things that can be bought outside. 


Kong Chuin Nien who is 23 years old this year, would like to prepare a romantic dinner by himself for his crush to make her feel special. Although he is not good in singing, but he is still willing to sing a song that she likes the most on this Valentine’s Day. 


            Gifting Valentine’s Day gift helps couple to express their feeling and to show their appreciation they feel toward their partners. Take some time and put creativity on gifts selection helps to create surprise and show your frankness to your spouse. Certain people felt it is always a tough one to choose Valentine’s Day gift.
